Friday, September 29th, 2017, the men and women from our Hope for Men & Hope for Women programs made a huge contribution to the Homeless Connect.
On behalf of the the Continuum of Care (CoC) Phil Schmauss organized another great event – this years Homeless Connect which was held at Central Presbyterian Church. The Merced County Rescue Mission was delighted to be one of the participating organizations. The men and women from our Hope for Men & Hope for Women programs helped with food preparation, serving, set-up and clean-up for the event. Over 200 homeless were served by the DMV, Human Services Agency (Merced County), Sierra Saving Grace, Golden Valley Health Clinics, Merced County Rescue Mission, United Way, Healthy House and many others. Backpacks provided by and distributed by Hope Mills of Los Angeles was one of the highlights for all participants. Mike Murphy, Merced County Mayor also visited the Homeless Connect. It was a wonderful event!
